We are opening up our cherished holiday home! I bet you will love it.
Our house is designed and set up with a healthy nod to the classic twentieth-century Australian beach house.
It is a spacious feel with high ceilings. So it is airy, light-filled and full of character. We have built much of it ourselves with recycled timbers and carefully selected vintage pieces....

THE SPACE
The space features a large open-plan living area with a lounge, dining, and a well-appointed kitchen. The servery window in the kitchen and a stacking sliding door in the dining area both face out to a large wrap-around deck. Although there are some great restaurants on and around the island, like us, you will probably end up entertaining in the comfort of home.
The deck includes a large dining setting and sun lounges for lazy afternoons in the sun.
The front yard is safely fenced and includes a sandpit and basketball hoop (a basketball will be provided).
A generous window corner lounge with futon mattresses is a perfect spot to rest and read. (These are also the additional single beds - best-suited to children).
All bedrooms are fitted with block-out blinds. The bed linen is cotton and linen throughout.
As you can see in the photos, there is a broad selection of books throughout the house as we believe good holidays involve losing yourself in a good book! If you start a book and don't finish it, you are welcome to take it: all we ask is that you leave a donation for our chosen charities (Indigenous Literacy Foundation and Asylum Seeker Resource Centre) and write down the book you’ve selected.
Several classic board games and some children’s toys are available too.
A BOSE speaker will be provided. And a portable record player can be used with your own vinyl.
If you are keen on a movie night after a day at the beach, help yourself to our streaming services or select from the DVDs available.
A Nectre wood heater is available if the temperature drops (and some wood for your use).
Each room has newly installed ceiling fans and the windows allow wonderful cross-ventilation with the sea breeze.
The bathroom is a large family bathroom with a separate toilet. There is a private hot outdoor shower as well.
The backyard includes raised garden beds with herbs and some other greens you are welcome to use.
The laundry is fitted with a front loading machine and washing liquid is provided. The traditional hills hoist is perfect for drying beach towels and any washing you may need to do....
