Additional Information

Our fully insulated luxury glamping tent sits above the river, offering a peaceful escape for up to two adults, with an additional day bed available for a small child (up to 10 years old). We welcome pets in this lux glamping tent, too - making this an ideal getaway for couples, small families, and furry companions alike.

Inside, you’ll find a comfortable king bed with a warm doona for restful nights, along with a private bathroom, kitchenette stocked with cutlery, pots, and crockery and a full-sized fridge. A cosy sitting area leads out to a generous deck with sun lounges, a gas BBQ, and uninterrupted views of the riverside. Enjoy evenings around your private campfire, relax in the hammock, or simply listen to the water as it flows by.

Your comfort is ensured year-round. In winter, settle in with a log fireplace, reverse-cycle heating, and electric blankets. During summer, stay cool with a ceiling fan and clever canvas walls that open to welcome the breeze - complete with flyscreens to keep insects out, or close the the walls and turn on the airconditioning. The tent is designed to feel like home, with thoughtful touches including a Nespresso coffee machine. Just bring your favourite food and drinks, plus towels for a splash in the river right outside.

Turon Gates operates completely off-grid and is powered predominantly by solar energy, allowing you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a stay that treads lightly on the environment. There is no mobile reception in the valley, but our on-site managers are available 24/7 for support. You can contact them via email or through your mobile phone’s wifi connection.

To help you unwind, the tent offers limited wifi and no television, an intentional digital detox. Spend your days swimming in the river, playing board games, wandering the mountains, watching wildlife, reading a book or simply resting in the quiet. All Turon Gates activities and scenic spaces are yours to enjoy during your stay.

Book your riverside escape and experience the calm, space, and stillness of a true nature retreat.

Soren and Sonya first came to Turon Gates in 1972 on a camping trip. They fell in love with its natural beauty and, after 4 days, decided they would love to retire there some day. Their dream was to create a bush retreat close enough to get away for a few days but far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of the city far behind.
