A Hidden, Tranquil Paradise

Huddled in the Foxground Valley of New South Wales sits an off-grid tiny house that will instantly take your breath away. From the moment we pulled in, we witnessed kangaroos, cattle, and lush rolling hills. As soon as we parked the car, we walked 100 meters into the hinterland and saw the tiny house. We were left speechless.

At first glance, I noticed a generous outdoor arrangement involving an in-the-open shower and bathtub, a fire pit, and a hammock. For a bonus, the creek runs in the background to offer a meditative soundtrack. As soon as we went inside, I was in love. It is homey, cosy, and comfortable, including the queen-size bed. Further, every feature feels intentional and clever, with plenty of storage. We put away our bags and darted into Gerringong to collect our dinner ingredients and supplies.

With a fully equipped kitchen and barbecue, we decided on lemon and rosemary chicken thighs cooked (to perfection) on the cast iron pan, with some crispy potatoes and salad to compliment. Once bedtime hit, a storm rolled in. We purposely left the blinds open to watch and listen all night. All I can say is I had the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. Morning came, and we enjoyed a cup of coffee before heading out for a surf and coastal walk. As the day went on, we enjoyed the comforts of the tiny house and swam in the creek.

Our stay involved a lot of reading, bird watching, and admiring the surrounding farmland. A personal highlight for me is the fire pit that hisses and crackles into the silence of the night, reminding you of how secluded you are and how special this place is. All you have to do is flick through the ‘Observer’s Notebook’ to read the other guest's experiences, some describing their stay as life-changing.

With its fabulous location, wonderful host, and incredible features, I’m already looking forward to returning (and never leaving).

This is a beautiful coastal walk where farmland meets the Tasman Sea. The route is 20km and point-to-point, so you can turn around and return to the start whenever you like. A bonus is that it's dog-friendly!

We followed the path and went for an explore and a quick dip in the running creek, right behind the tiny house. To top it off, you can run back up to the house and enjoy a hot outdoor shower! Perfection.

Rustic decor, hand-crafted burgers and meals from locally sourced ingredients. How good!
