Cozy Cottage on the Hill

The sunset was setting in, and we were in for a treat! My sister Flossy poured us a glass of wine (from the Perch Winery we visited earlier that day at Lavers Hill) while I fixed us a platter of delicious goodness.

We sat on the wooden deck, quietly sipping our wine as the birds danced around on the front lawn. It was magic. The light beaming through the trees as the sun fell behind the mountain tops. The colours, the textures... what a moment to share together.

We woke to greet the morning sun with some yoga on the deck, followed by a froffy coffee snugged back in bed. The morning was slow. Just as we needed.

After lunch we adventured out to give thanks for the outrageously beautiful Redwood Forrest trees. We spent the afternoon wondering through the living giants before we back home to our cozy adobe.

An early night by the fire was had, with a cuppa in hand. We slept in on our final night in the stone cottage. It was so comfy, warm and still. We had some brekky on the deck and a moment to take in those mountain views one last time. We drove 12km down the road to mozy through Maits Rest rainforest, we had heard so much about. We spent the morning here. I hugged a few trees while Flossy giggled at me. We are different like that. Same kinda heart beat though.

The Perch at Lavers Hill was a little impromptu stop my sister and Flossy made. There's a full menu with a delightful view, but we decided to taste a few wines from their large selection! Lovely forrest walk just outside their deck that was wrapped with floor to ceiling windows. Lovely staff. Lovely space with a warm vibe. Glad we followed our hearts to check this one out. You should too friends.

Easy parking. Easy walk into the Redwoods. We spent hours here. Was such an awesome experience being surrounded by beautiful giants. Highly recommend bringing along a picnic lunch to enjoy in the forest too!

Easy 800km walk through the rain forest. Giant trees and ferns create a gorgeous canopy over the walking track. You'll spend a lot of time looking up as we sure did. Loads of parking spots too.
