Dream stay by the Bay
Adventure in Broken Head, North Coast, NSW, AU
Arrived in Broken Head just outside Byron Bay, to celebrate another lap around the sun! Yep! It sure was my birthday! I collected my younger sister Flossy from the airport, alongside a few other friends who lived local in the area.
We hit Broken Head Beach before we checked in and followed the inlet to have a quick dip in Tea Tree Lake. It was such a glorious day it was a no brainer for me. I was in for a swim.
Later that arvo we checked into our omg deluxe beach retreat minutes walk from the beach. Literally couldn’t believe my eyeballs it was THAT A-MAZING! Large, open spaces, airy, and adored the light dancing through the windows. All overlooking the most luscious lawn I’ve ever seen! We each had our own rooms although the highlights would have been the ginormous bathtub which had falling water from the ceiling and the heated magnesium pool!
We cracked a few coconuts and made our own Pina Coladas as we splashed and celebrated the day away. It was an epic time surrounded by beautiful humans, in a beautiful space. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I really was living a daydream out loud - and yes, we caked with candles! Although my wish that day had already come true. We were living it loud and proud.
We slept in that morning, did some yoga on the lawn then hit the trail along the three sisters track which was straight out the front of our stay! It was such a beautiful day once again. The track took us right to the Broken Head point and around the bend to a secluded beach. We had the entire spot all to ourselves for most of the morning.
Lunch on deck at the beach house, a cheeky arvo nap then we hit the surf and packed a picnic for sunset. The stay provided boards which we were so thankful for! We laughed, cheered, and enjoyed the ocean all afternoon riding the waves, just as we do in life. We rolled onto the beach, watching the sunset and the more profesh surfers hit the goods. And let me tell you, we weren’t the only hotties getting about at dusk (insert winky emoji here friends!). Happy Birthday weekend to me.
Flossy cooked us dinner that night in the open-plan kitchen while the rest of us drank wine in and around the pool under the stars. Before bed, I ran a bath topped with bubbles and sank so deep. I remember thinking, if this is a dream no one dare wake me. Woman overjoyed.
We packed ready to leave our dream stay by the bay and finished our adventure with a froffy coffee chillaxin’ in the lounge reading all the books. Our cups had been filled as well as our hearts - and that my friends was the time we stayed and played near Byron Bay.

- Lake
- Walk
A short stroll from the beach house is Broken Head beach. We went down with a few cheeky cuppas, picnic blanket and watched the surfers as the sun went down. The sunrise was worth a look too over the ocean!
Along Broken Head beach, walk towards Byron Bay and you'll come across the lakes inlet. Follow this to find the Tea Tree Lake.
We walked from the beach house along the Three Sisters Walking Track to the lookout. Amazing spot. Great views. We went down the the beach too which we then had the entire beach to ourselves!
