Open hearts & spaces by the sea

My sister and her two pooches joined me at the Beachfront Bungalow, just a short stroll from Broken Head Beach. The large grassy yard was enclosed and pet friendly which was a huge win in our eyes! Our furballs were right at home, as were Flossy and I.

I cooked us up a BBQ dinner right outside on the deck while Floss got us some wine and the pooches played chasey on the lawn. Floss has been teaching them a few tricks and the latest one was to shake hands, and they nailed the task first hand... or first paw I should say.

The open-plan Beachfront Bungalow was fitted with all that we needed including a dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. We washed it all, including our hair that day.

Early morning rise and we left the paw patrol back at the bungalow while we hit the surf at Broken Head Beach. The host provided us surfboards, and the surf was just a stone's throw away! The waves were gentle that morning, and the dolphins were rising right beside us just like the sun! It was a heart-filling moment for sure. Annnnd yep... I totally fell off my board the first time I saw a dolphin near me. They are huge mammals up close - cute but!

We washed off our sandy toes under the outdoor shower back at the digs before vanning into Suffolk Park for a meal. We arrived at ‘The Park’ and ordered ourselves some food and a cheeky lunchtime beer. We drifted the main area of Suffolk and got some sourdough from the local bakery before heading back to our humble abode.

Floss had some r n r time that afternoon in her robe and tv series while I had a deluxe bubble bath! The rest of the day got away after that. I took the pooches for a walk and before we knew it, the day had fully past with flying colours.

A little local birdy told us about this epic grassy knoll picnic spot in the National Park near Braes Beach, so we went exploring and took our breakfast with us! We checked out a few natural swimming pools while we were there just before the tide came crashing in! She was wild. Just like us!

Floss was keen for an open ocean dip, so we drove further along to Whites Beach. It was a 20-minute rock stair walk down but it was totally worth it as there was hardly anyone there. Made it back just in time to collect the paw patrol and pack our van ready for the next adventure! We absolutely LOVED this stay especially their consideration for the fur babies! We’ll be back for another play and stay someday! Thanks for the ride.

From Bray's Beach carpark, there's a 15 minute walk to the grassy knoll for a great picnic spot! There's also rock pool swim options although please check the tides for the day as they would be super dangerous to swim in on a high tide day! Enter at your own risk and be safe friends. The views were awesome!

Literally right outside our backdoor is the beautiful Broken Head beach! Surf boards are provided by the hosts and we spent a sunrise morning here! We also took the drone for a fly in the sky before we coffeed!

"The Park" right in the heart of Suffolk Park delivered us the freshest, tastiest lunch! And we were completely surprised by how affordable it was! Great vibes led us to good times.

Great secluded swimming spot and there was some caves to be explored. I didn't make it into the caves given it was high tide but they looked like an adventure for sure! Check your tide times before you decide to go exploring friends.
