Solo Self Love Retreat

Arriving in Daylesford before check-in, I went wandering the Central Springs Reserve by the lake. An easy walk led me to a waterfall that followed to a natural spring, that Daylesford was famous for.

I took a sip and let’s just say I didn’t taste the spring I had hoped it would be friends! Ha! It was a fresh delightful winter day, and the sun had come out to play! Greeted by a metal sculpture kangaroo, the Texada Art Retreat stay was surrounded by native trees and other sculptures. The front verandah wrapped around the side of the abode and featured a hot tub ready for my grand entrance. #queenofthetub

The inside was an open-plan living space and the spilt system was doing its job heating the entire home. Large bedroom in the back with a floral doona set and telly for those movie marathons I knew was coming my way. I couldn’t wait much longer, so I jumped into the spa at sunset and stayed in there until my fingers were all wrinkled up. The cold air was creeping in that night although the spa was steaming - and so was I. Something about winter and hot tubs. Absolutely delightful.

I slept in that morning and took it slow. Yoga in the lounge, poached eggs on toast while I wrote in my journal about my beautiful life. I worked hard to get here although it does still feel surreal at times. I love to create connection, art, and memories - and this stay felt like it was the same. They have the same kinda heart.

I fixed myself a hot chocolate and headed out the gates of the stay. I could literally see the Amazing Mill Markets from the gate and I knew my afternoon was complete. I got lost in my own amazing world of the Amazing Mill Markets trying on ALL the outrageously fabulous outfits - especially the fur coats and hats! I found a heart locket too which I wanted to place on the bridge of love at the lake. We’ll do that stop off tomorrow friends. The market stalls were full of potential, just like some of the men I’ve dated, (insert cheeky face here) all looking for a new home. I smelt all the old books and skimmed through the records. Antiques, furniture, and all kinds of treasures. It was a good spot to get lost in.

My final day in Daylesford arrived and I was all coffeed up, showered, and smelling sweeter than ever! I drifted through the gardens at the art retreat and admired all the sculptures featured in the garden. Unicorns, leaves, kangaroos, tribal statues, and birds - all cleverly designed! I left feeling well-rested and wholesome. The stay felt like home.

I went back down to the bridge of love and locked my locket found at the market to represent some self-love. Everyone I read was for someone else. Not me though. I was there bringing myself all the love I deserved that special solo trip to Daylesford. After all, if you can’t fall in love with yourself, how will anyone else?

I spent an entire afternoon getting lost here - and what an awesome spot to get lost in! I tried on several outfits and loved sniffing all the old books! Open 7 days a week with a cafe and toilet facilities inside. Give yourself plenty of time to discover this wonderland.

On the property, there's several art sculptures in and around the garden. Make sure you take the time just on dusk as some of the sculptures light up at night adding an extra element to the creativity!

The Daylesford walk is an easy one with several natural paths to see all kinds of different things. I followed my heart along the love bridge and placed a locket on the bridge with the other hopeful hearts and followed the signs down to the springs. There's a waterfall and BBQ park area too. I followed along the river towards the Sutton Mineral Springs and had a taste of the water and followed the loop back around to the lake. Was real nice and lovely!
