Wonderful Views at Wye River
Adventure in Wye River, Great Ocean Road, VIC, AU
We were truly amazed as we arrived at Bridge Rest, nestled high among the treetops and offering breathtaking views of the ocean. The house itself was beautifully designed, with a spacious living room and kitchen upstairs and a cosy bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The abundance of natural light and large windows made it easy to admire the stunning view from every corner.
Our days were filled with simple pleasures: waking up to the ocean, relaxing in the comfortable lounge, and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen (with a handy general store just a 5-minute drive away). We were often visited by friendly local birds, and in the evenings, we enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace, adding to the cosy atmosphere. The peace and quiet of Bridge Rest gave us the feeling of having our own private retreat by the sea.
The location also made it an ideal base for exploring Wye River and the rest of the Great Ocean Road. During our stay, we took a few scenic detours, stopping at Split Point Lookout in Aireys Inlet (where we glimpsed the iconic ‘Round the Twist’ lighthouse), soaking in the panoramic views at Teddy’s Lookout in Lorne, walking through the lush ferns at Erskine Falls, and of course, visiting the nearby Wye River beach, just a stone’s throw from Bridge Rest.
Bridge Rest was the perfect getaway for relaxation and connection with nature, offering beautiful surroundings and a peaceful setting in an ideal location.
