Birthday Love in the High Country

Woke up fresh as a daisy to meet the girl gang in Falls Creek to celebrate my birthday! On the way up, I stopped at Fainter Falls during a break in the rain, and she was flowing with force! #yeahshewas

Took the stairs to the top of our apartment, which sat right on the mountain’s edge—three stories high! I turned on every heater I could find—it was a tad nippy with a top of 4 degrees! #fresh

Not long after, the girls arrived and everything started heating up just fine. Jo-Jo poured the wine, Han poured her heart out about her new love, and we were all keen to hear every word. We huddled in the lounge, cosy as could be, while our master chef Amber whipped up a birthday feast. Everyone needs a thoughtful friend like Amber on their birthday. Full hearts and full bellies!

Feeling super grateful to be surrounded by love and mountains, we cheersed to me, to friendships, and to more adventures.

The next morning, two of us ran uphill while the other two wandered down to the coffee shop. We’ll let you guess who went where—but I’ll give you a hint: you won’t catch me running up anything, my friends! Ha!

That afternoon brought some chillax time. We all live such busy lives, so the solo moments in our own rooms felt pretty special. There were chai teas, naps, deep dives into books, and a spa bath fit for a queen—with the jets on high, of course.

Later, we regrouped in the top lounge to play some board games and sipped wine while watching the sun sink through the treetops. Seriously. ONE. EPIC. VIEW.

Each bedroom had its own ensuite, so getting ready was a breeze—hot showers all around before bundling into jackets, boots, and beanies. We hit the road for a scenic autumn drive down to Mount Beauty and wandered through town, admiring the beauties among the beauty. The trees were something else.

We left our cosy weekend away feeling rejuvenated, with hearts full of hope and curiosity, ready to take on the world...

We visited Falls Creek just before the the start of winter. So not much snow getting about though it was cold enough to for snow to arrive! Quiet village during our visit although I bet its lively during winter! We wondered the streets and got coffee from the local cafe at the bottom on the hill.
