Yutori - Space to Breathe

Arriving at Yutori felt like stepping into the meaning of its name. Set quietly on the slopes of Mt Marsden, the cabin offered more than a place to stay — it offered space. Space to slow down, to breathe, and to let the noise of everyday life fade into the landscape.

Mornings unfolded gently with coffee on the deck, fresh mountain air, and birdsong filling the quiet. There was no urgency, only time to sit, read, and watch the light move across the valley.

Afternoons invited exploration and ease in equal measure — short walks through the bush followed by long moments of rest back at the cabin, fully unplugged and present. The ice baths was the best way to recover from a long trek continuing with the hot sauna, a pleasure that we enjoyed more than once.

As evening arrived, we gathered around the fire pit, cooking over the grill as flames crackled and the sky darkened above us, leaving a sky full stars and wonder.

We left Yutori feeling grounded, restored, and lighter. It was a reminder that fulfillment can be found in simplicity — in slowness, connection, and the freedom that comes when you finally give yourself room to breathe.

We went to discover Dunns Swamp and we found what is a little river oasis in the middle of the canyon. We did a little walk going through Aboriginal Hand Printings until we reached to Platypus Point. Beautiful scenery and lovely walk around the Cudgegong river.

A loop walk around Valley of the Dinosaurs feels like stepping back in time. The track winds gently through ancient bushland, surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs and pockets of rainforest that hint at the deep history of this landscape. Cycads and tall gums line the path, giving the walk a quiet, almost prehistoric atmosphere.

The loop unfolds at an easy pace, with moments of openness followed by sheltered sections where the air cools and the forest closes in. It’s a walk that invites curiosity and imagination, encouraging you to slow down and take it all in. Grounded, peaceful, and rich with a sense of discovery, the Valley of the Dinosaurs leaves you feeling connected to the land and its vast, enduring story.

We got lucky to have clear skies during the night and we were able to see many stars during the night meanwhile we were enjoying the fire and some wine
