Off-grid cabin with dreamy stargazing roof

Woodfire heated baths on the side of a mountain or a glass ceiling bed with a view? It’s ok, you can have both with this charming off grid cabin in Sassafras on the NSW South Coast.

Upon reaching this beautiful off grid cabin and walking into the bedroom to find a glass ceiling revealing the soft afternoon glow on the gum trees, we knew this place was very special.

We spent our days relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking views over Morton National Park all the way to Jervis Bay, from the comfort of the couch, before toasting golden hour on the deck as dusk slowly melted into night. The woodfire heated bath and indoor fireplace were definite highlights and soothed our souls after long days exploring the national park and visiting the beaches of Jervis Bay. They say you can’t have it all, a beach and bush escape, but this cabin truly brings coastal views to your doorstep while remaining completely surrounded by nature.

We would then hurry to bed to listen to the gentle sound of rain and the evening chorus of nature slowly settling into rest. It was a magical experience that truly felt like a dream. Imagine having both a woodfire heated bath on a mountainside and a glass ceiling bed with a view. This enchanting off grid cabin in Sassafras on the NSW South Coast makes it possible and left us feeling refreshed and deeply connected to nature in a unique way. We even spotted kangaroos, emus, and native birds during our stay, which made it even more special.

Now we are home and already missing that glass ceiling above the bed, so I guess we will have to revisit this charming cabin again soon.

Just a 40 minute drive from the cabin and you have arrived at the world famous Hyams Beach. This beautiful beach is known for having some of the whitest sand in the world and you can see why! We loved walking on the sand and feeling the warm ocean water. Absolute paradise!

Just a short 15 minute drive and you have arrived at one of the most beautiful lookouts in the area. With its sweeping, panoramic views out over the hinterland to the coast, from Gerroa down to Ulladulla, Jervis Bay, St Georges Basin, Morton National Park and Swan Lake. This beautiful lookout has it all! A must do.

Authentic Freshly Made Pasta, Gelato and Italian Cocktails by the beach - need I say more? We loved this cute pasta bar located in Huskisson. The pasta was delicious and we treated ourselves to gelato after of course! All in the one store.
