Slow Days in the Valley: A Romantic Escape at the A-Frame
Adventure in Greenlands, Snowy Mountains, NSW, AU
Our two-night stay at the A-Frame for Two felt like stepping into a slower rhythm of life.
We arrived just in time for sunset, dropping our bags before settling into the hammock on the deck. Below us, horses wandered the rolling paddocks, the river winding through the valley beyond. The sound of flowing water drifted up from below, creating a sense of calm that settled over the entire property.
As dusk arrived, we lit the outdoor fire and spent the evening toasting marshmallows beneath the stars, soaking in the quiet of the countryside.
The next morning welcomed us with a soft blanket of fog hanging over the farm. We relit the indoor fireplace, enjoyed a slow start to the day, and lingered over breakfast on the deck as the mist slowly lifted from the valley.
Our afternoon adventure took us down to the river, where we wandered through the property before finding the perfect spot for a picnic. We spent the afternoon kayaking along the water, taking in the peaceful surroundings before making our way back to the A-frame.
Back at the cabin, we sank into the indoor soaking tub before settling in for a game of chess beside the crackling fire. The beautifully styled bedroom, complete with quality linen and a luxuriously comfortable bed, made it difficult to leave.
Our final morning began with coffee in bed before heading outside to soak in the hot tub, taking in the views one last time. During our stay, we also met the property's charming Highland cows and spent time watching the sheep and horses graze peacefully across the farm.
From misty mornings and riverside adventures to fireside evenings and slow moments in nature, the A-Frame for Two offered the perfect balance of romance, luxury, and connection to the wild.

Things We Did
- Kayak
- River
- Farm
- Starry sky
During our stay, I took the single kayak out on the Numeralla River for a peaceful afternoon on the water. After a short walk down from the A-frame, I paddled along the calm river, taking in the surrounding farmland and enjoying the quiet beauty of the landscape. It was a lovely way to slow down and experience another side of the property.
We packed a simple picnic and wandered down to the river, finding a quiet spot beside the water to relax for the afternoon. Surrounded by nature and the sounds of the flowing river, it was the perfect place to slow down, soak up the scenery, and enjoy a peaceful moment together.
One of the lovely touches during our stay was meeting the farm animals. We spent time watching the sheep and horses grazing in the paddocks and were especially excited to meet Hazel, the adorable Highland cow.
As the evening cooled down, we lit the outdoor fire, toasted marshmallows, and enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the stars come out.
