Wollombi Valley Escape
Adventure in Wollombi, Hunter Valley, NSW, AU
Tiny Escape is tucked away in the small town of Wollombi, only 1.5 hours from Sydney. We arrived perfectly for sunset, we poured ourself a glass of wine and took a front-row seat on the porch. The sky turned orange while we sipped on our drinks and embraced the relaxed atmosphere.
The next morning we woke up early well-rested, both agreeing that we haven’t slept that good in a long while. We had breakfast and coffee on the porch before we decided to go for a walk around the area. The cottage is surrounded by bush, and just down the road, you can say hi to the super friendly horses. After our walk, we drove down the road 20 minutes to an area called Broke, if you like wine this is the place for you! There are beautiful wineries around every corner.
The cottage is cozy with everything you need and is well equipped with board games, books and DVDs. Our last night a massive storm rolled in over the valley which resulted in a movie night inside while the lightning lit up the sky outside—a perfect end to a wonderful weekend.

Baiame Cave is a heritage-listed cave featuring Indigenous rock art at Milbrodale just 20 minutes down the road from Tiny Escape. Well worth a visit but please be advised you should seek permission from the landowner before visiting.
We went for a wine tasting at Ascella Organic Wines in Broke.
Lovely family owned winery with delicious wines and cheeses, the owner Barb was such a good host. Will definitely be back!
