We are the custodians of Melanesia Cottage, a small off-grid retreat tucked into the forest along the Great Ocean Walk near Melanesia Beach in the Otways.
We fell in love with this place for its quiet beauty — the towering eucalypts, the wildlife, the nearby wild coastline and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature.
The cottage was built from volcanic stone and recycled timber and has a wonderfully cosy, grounding feel. When we found it, we knew it was the kind of place that deserved to be shared with people looking to slow down, walk in nature and disconnect from the busy world for a while.
Our hope is that guests experience what we do when we stay here — deep quiet, fresh ocean air, beautiful walks and nights under a huge starry sky.
