The Mulberry Cottage is located at Weardale Estate, nestled in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. Name after the Unique Mulberry tree at its entrance, situated at the lower part of the estate, this cosy cottage has country charm and picturesque views that look up at the scenic estate gardens and wide expanse of the estate green. Surrounded by majestic trees and the sounds of birds, this cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, a peaceful escape, or a place to stay if visiting the Dandenong Ranges.

It offers many features to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including a spacious corner spa for one or small cosy spa for two, Open fireplace with enough quality seasoned red gum firewood for an evening fire, queen sized bed with open ensuite in bedroom, smart TV with complimentary streaming services, reverse cycle heating and cooling, a small kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee pod machine, milk frother and a bar fridge.

Extra guests: We do not permit extra guests on the Estate grounds, unless previous arrangement has been made with Management. Should this rule be broken, you and your guests may be asked to leave.

Access to Grounds:
As you enjoy walking around the grounds, we kindly ask that you respect the gardens, wildlife and other cottages as this is a heritage listed property.

No Smoking-vaping/damage-loss/cleaning policy:
Weardale Estate is smoke free. Smoking is only permitted on outside balconies and strictly no smoking/vaping inside the cottage. When smoking on your balcony, please close the doors/windows you so that smoke does not blow straight back into the cottage. Please discard refuse in the ashtrays provided and under no circumstance should guests throw butts over the balcony. A charge of $500 to remove smell from furniture upholstery, drapes, carpets and rugs etc, will be charged to your credit card on departure day if we are unable to release the room to incoming guests due to the smell of smoke.

Quiet enjoyment:
It is important that all our guests have quiet enjoyment whilst staying at Weardale Estate. We kindly ask that guests respect the peaceful, tranquil nature of the Estate and its surrounding community. Should this rule be broken, guests may be asked to leave.

This establishment had been known by many names over the past few decades. However its original name was “Weardale“ which was the site of the first habitable building in The Patch (formally known as “The Valley”) in the late 1880's and later as a guest house once the original homestead was built around 1912. Back at the turn of the last century, the expanse of lawns used to be double tennis courts, where tennis enthusiasts and writers would come to “Weardale” to escape the congestion of Melbourne. Fast forward 110 years, this charming, peaceful and beautiful Estate, is still a place that people choose to “Come away”. Many have loved it here and we hope that you do too.
