Welcome to Shakabode . A double story beach shack located on the spectacular Phillip Island. This property has plenty of space for everyone to relax. Surf and sand is the perfect place to enjoy and explore everything Phillip Island has to offer. We believe you’ll feel right at home and never want to leave.
Shakabode is every bit the beach house, from its whitewashed interior to the exposed rafters and timber wall panelling. A sunny house with amazing elevations which allows for endless country and bay views. The house incorporates a tasteful but vintage mix of décor to create a space that feels relaxed and sophisticated.
The property features a cosy large main downstairs living room with fireplace. The upstairs living room opens out onto a magnificent deck that has incredible views of Swan Bay all year round. The entertaining deck is perfect for balmy summer evenings or cosy winter nights especially during sun rise and sunset. The sound of the waves and smell of the beach air is a constant reminder of the proximity of the property to the beach. The second storey deck area has two sitting areas. Two Bar style tables provides hours of entertainment on the deck. The property has been cleverly refurnished into a magnificent guest house that sleeps ten guests in a four bedroom two living areas and two bathroom. One bathroom has recently been fully renovated. The retro kitchen is fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, oven, fridge and many staples like oil, salt and pepper.
Wood fire, endless supply of fire wood, a smart TV, two split systems heating and cooling make the space comfortable in all climates. All linen and bath towels are supplied. There is extra bedding in the cupboards if required for those cooler nights.
Enjoy a short three minute walk to spectacular Surf Beach or the numerous trails that meander along Bass Coastline. The main town Cowes is a short ten minute drive. There is so much to do and see on Phillip Island no matter what time of the year, including the amazing penguin parade and the colony of fur seals and the sleepy koala sanctuary. An amazing experience is to witness the migrating birds. A visit to the National Surfing Reserve and Rhyll Inlet is also a must.
Phillip Island is home to the Grand Prix Circuit. The Worlds leading motorsport series including the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and the Superbike World Championship. The Australian Series occur throughout the year. Shakabode is only a short 7 minute drive to the track.
Phillip Island is a world class destination for surfing in all kinds of weather and abilities. The Island offers different breaks from sheltered bays to more powerful breaks. More advanced surfers can check out the world class breaks at Cape Woolamai while beginners can head to Smiths Beach and YCW Beach for smaller waves. These beaches are patrolled at various times throughout the year.
To ensure the comfort of our guests and the neighbours, we do not accept bookings for "Schoolies" breaks/under 21yrs groups and under no circumstances do we allow weddings or parties of any sort.
