Additional Information
Conditions of Booking – Keeping Carawirry Wild & Wonderful
We keep things relaxed and easy at Carawirry, but there are a few simple house rules to help protect the land, wildlife, and experience for everyone.
Smoking Outdoors
✔ If you smoke, please do so outside, away from doorways and windows.
✔ Butts in the bin, not on the ground—no one wants to find those lying around.
✔ Fire safety is serious business—especially in dry months. A single ember can spark real trouble in the bush.
Humans Only
Carawirry is brimming with wildlife, and we’d love to keep it that way. Please don’t bring pets—even the well-behaved ones.
Don’t worry, resident wallaby Skip will cure any furry friend withdrawals.
Be Drain Aware
The only thing that should go down the toilet is toilet paper (well, and the other obvious stuff).
A blocked drain in the middle of the forest? Trust us—you don’t want that.
It’s Cool to Be Kind
Respect your fellow guests—Carawirry is a place to switch off and slow down.
Keep noise to a minimum between 9 PM and 9 AM—nature’s soundtrack is already a cracker.
Stick to your space—please don’t wander into other guests’ areas.

Hi, I’m Heather — owner of Carawirry Forest Escape, a secluded hideaway tucked into 250 acres of forest near Dungog, NSW.
I love creating cosy, down-to-earth stays where guests can slow down, explore, stargaze, light the fire and properly unwind. My family and I care deeply for this beautiful pocket of Aussie wilderness, and we’re always happy to help make your stay feel easy, comfy and memorable.
Ask a QuestionAdventures on the Property
These are the exclusive natural wonders and outdoor activities within the property boundaries.
Fish Off The Private Jetty
Want an ‘it was this big!’ story? Does a couple of brewskies on the jetty sound like heaven? You’ll feel as though a local fisherman’s given away his secret spot at one of Carawirry’s private dams. Recently filled with Silver Perch and Bass, you'll be catching a winner.
Hike The Carawirry Trails
Wandering deep within Carawirry’s beautiful old forest is a guest favourite. Home to several kilometres of private bushwalking trails, you’ll discover tracks for all skill levels. On arrival, we’ll have a map ready to guide your forest hike. Not lost, just wandering.
Ride Amoung The Eucalypts
Off-road riding, eat your heart out. We invite you to bring along the bikes, pack a couple of snacks and make a day of mountain biking through kilometres of biking trails around the property.
Swim In Natural Pools
When TLC sang ‘don’t go chasing waterfalls,’ we reckon that’s because they hadn’t seen ours yet. Surrounded by lush wilderness, this secret spot’s a cooee from the cabin, but private enough to take a cheeky skinny dip. If you're game.
Zen Out In The Forest
Forest bathing’s tonic for the soul. And neighbouring Chichester State Forest is a ripper spot to get your zen on. Whether it's visiting the original open air museum of old logging machinery, mountain biking to Frying Pan Creek or just breathing in that fresh forest air.
Private Waterfall Swim Trail Walk
I could not believe my eye balls when I seen this private waterfall spot! Accessible and beautiful forest walk to this incredible location. The waterfall wasn't flowing much during my visit although I still went for a swim and climbed some trees. Fell out of a tree too! ha!
