Additional Information

CARRIAGE DETAILS
Carriage 343 is a converted guards and passenger carriage. The original freight van is now a master bedroom, with antiqued mirror walls and juliette balconies through parcel doors. An Early Kooka provides kitchen cooking, and there is a fire pit with bbq plate outside. An original guards fuel stove provides a small fireplace for heating, however the carriage is not well insulated and can get cold - bring warm clothes! There are sheepskin rugs, warm cosy doonas and robes provided.

There is a shower and toilet, and a french zinc bath positioned with lovely view under the scribbly gums.

Original railway seats have been reupholstered in fallow deer from the property, providing a unique look in the dining booth.

Carriage 343 is situated in a paddock with lovely rural views, but privacy. We are adjacent to state forest and have many great mountain bike and walking tracks at our doorstep.

The Carriage is eco-friendly, running on solar power and using creek water. There is a small fridge, kitchen sink and gas stove/oven, but no TV, Wifi, Foxtel, hairdryer, microwave etc.

GUEST ACCESS
During these uncertain times, Carriage 343 is a perfect place to 'self-isolate'.
If you need to quarantine, we can deliver the necessities to make your isolation an experience to cherish - we have strict protocols and cleaning procedures in place to ensure your safety, and can tailor a package to suit.

PLEASE NOTE
Please close gates.
NO smoking.

This is a working farm. There may be stock in paddocks.
The 'cleaning fee' covers my linen cleaning costs only. Please use the broom, kitchen sink and cleaning items provided to leave the carriage as close to how you found it as possible. It still takes several hours to really give it a thorough clean and changeover.
Don't expect a good review if you leave dirty dishes for me. I try hard to add special touches that make this memorable for you in all the right ways and appreciate the same courtesy.

Prices

  • Base Price $380 / night

What a lovely way to escape the every day! The private location has beautiful views over the farm and toward the bush. Watching and listening to the sound of native birds was a real highlight. It felt... so special watching a family of black cockatoos fly over every afternoon.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, especially the canoeing, tyre swing and zip line on the property, which were a big hit and added a fun, adventurous touch to the stay. The kids loved the bath, roasting marshmallows and cooking damper over the fire pit. The hosts Katrina and were incredibly warm and welcoming, and took the time to show us around and introduce us to the animals, which the kids absolutely loved. They were very grateful for a peacock feather souvenir!

It felt relaxed, genuine, and family-friendly throughout. We’d happily recommend this farm stay to anyone looking to unwind, enjoy nature, and experience a bit of farm life.

Such a wonderful idea setting up the train carriage for accommodation on the beautiful property. The fit out is amazing and the open fire / BBQ area with outdoor bath was very relaxing and private. We... enjoyed hiking Fitzroy falls and visiting the local cafes and interior decorating businesses. We had a delicious lunch at Genso Japanese restaurant. We enjoyed relaxing in and around our carriage accommodation after lunch and cooked our own meals both nights

Only a brief 15-minute drive from Carriage 343 is the breathtaking Fitzroy Falls. With several 4-5 hour walks surrounding the Falls themselves, you only need to stroll 200-300m from the carpark where you can be blown away by the 81m high waterfall - a perfect way to start or finish an enduring few hours on the trail.

Try avoiding long weekends as it can get quite busy.
